"Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area and consider an alternate route," LAFD said.

One home was considered to be at risk after several retaining walls gave out and allowed mud to slide downhill and onto Mulholland Drive, according to LAFD. The debris flow threatened a power pole and obstructed the road.

"LAFD Firefighters discovered one of several terraced retaining walls on a one-third acre residential property gave way, causing mud to cascade downhill, away from a 2,415 square-foot home, and onto nearby Mulholland Drive," LAFD said.

The home was not directly damaged, but an elder male resident and his caretaker were evacuated as a precaution, LAFD said.
